ExiVision EXV - AV Splitters & Distribution Extenders ExiVision EXV facilitates the distribution of Audio and Video signals over cat5, 6 or 7 cable structures.
From a single source, such as a computer, TV feed or a DVD player, the Audio and Video can be reproduced at various points around a store, a mall or any public area using cheap and readily available network cable – very often this already exists as “premise cabling” in modern buildings.
The concept is very simple (and most importantly, so is the actuality):- An ExiVision EXV transmitter takes in audio (which can be in conventional analogue format from TV etc. or in digital format from PCs, iPods etc.) and Video signals. The ExiVision EXV distribution transmitter then encodes the signals into a highly developed signal suitable for passing down a network cable structure, and sends it in up to eight different directions at once.
Wherever you then need a Video and/or Audio output you just add an ExiVision EXV receiver, to which you connect your chosen monitor and speakers. Al of the receiver points will display the same Audio/Visual presentation in real time.
Receivers are available with dual video outputs, so that (for instance) information can be viewed by people on both sides of an info-point. In a distribution solution, dual headed receivers can be mixed and matched with single receivers.

How do I select the correct ExiVision EXV parts?
The system comprises two parts, so first choose the transmitter which best suits your needs – and then choose the appropriate receiver unit(s).
Things to remember;
If you are using cat6 or 7 cable then you should choose receivers with Skew compensation adjustment. Receivers can be of mixed types so that your application can be fulfilled perfectly and you can re-use various monitors of various types. Some receivers feature two video outputs so that the same display can be shown twice at any receiver location – this is a great feature for double-sided displays.
