What is AV?

ExiVision EXV is a family of products which are designed for the Digital Signage world, and which facilitate the distribution of Audio and Video signals over cat5, 6 or 7 cable structures. That means that from a single source, such as a computer, TV feed or a DVD player, the Audio and Video can be reproduced at various points around a store, a mall or any public area using cheap and readily available network cable; very often this already exists as “premise cabling” in modern buildings.

The concept is very simple (and most importantly, so is the actuality): an ExiVision EXV transmitter takes in audio (which can be in conventional analogue format from TV etc. or in digital format from PCs, iPods etc.) and video signals. The ExiVision EXV transmitter then encodes the signals into a highly developed signal suitable for passing down a network cable structure.

Wherever you then need a Video and/or Audio output you just add an ExiVision EXV receiver, to which you connect your chosen monitor and speakers.

Receivers are available with dual video outputs, so that, for instance, information can be viewed by people on both sides of an info point.

Typical uses of ExiVision EXV are airport and railway timetable screens, in-store advertising displays, mall guides and more or less any application where you need the same information repeated in several locations.
